Sioux Falls to Welcome Its First New Private Golf Course In Decades
It's been over two years in the making, and the long wait to tee off is about to come to an end later this summer.
The new Mapleton Golf Club is set to open here in Sioux Falls this September.
Once open, it will be the first private golf course to open in the Sioux Empire in over 60 years.

Mapleton will be a 210-acre golf course located across from the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, running along Slip-Up Creek.
While Sioux Falls has other private golf clubs, Dakota News Now reports that Mapleton will be a little different than the others. First, it will not have things like a swimming pool or tennis courts, Maple is going to focus solely on the game of golf.
The course boasts many unique features such as an 18-hole championship course, a state-of-the-art clubhouse, a fine dining restaurant, outdoor patio space, overnight accommodations, a six-hole short course that will be lit up at night for all you nightowls, holes that run alongside a creek, and numerous elevation changes, complete with rolling hills, just to name a few.
The Mapleton staff wants its members to have access to the golf course at all times.
That's why, according to Dakota News Now, they plan on having a limited number of memberships. And speaking of memberships, they're almost full.

The popularity of golf is skyrocketing right now. Sioux Falls currently has 6 public golf courses, along with two additional country club courses, and of course, several excellent smaller golf courses in neighboring cities around Sioux Falls.
Like the rest of the nation, the game of golf is alive and well here in the Sioux Empire.
The new Mapleton Golf Course will be a welcome addition to the city of Sioux Falls, and not just because of golf. As Dakota News Now reports, Mapleton is doing an excellent job of helping to create jobs. Be it opportunities for golf professionals, executive chefs, food and beverage directors, the list goes on and on.
If things stay on track and Mother Nature continues to cooperate, Mapleton hopes to have its members teeing off by September 1st.
