Does Sioux Falls have its own Fred Astaire or Ginger Rogers? Maybe we have a dancing phenom like Shakira that we didn't know about.

We're soon going to get a chance once again to find out, as "Dancing With the Sioux Falls Stars" is set to make its return to the Sioux Empire this October.

Rehearsals are now underway at O'Gorman High School for the five different Sioux Falls celebrities who will be paired with a professional dance partner on the evening of October 19th at The District in an event benefiting Empire Mental Health Support.

That night, all five couples will get the opportunity to show off their dance floor moves as they compete to become the mirrorball champions and do their part to help raise awareness for mental health support in the community.

Professional Dancer Clinton Store told Dakota News Now, “Mental health is very important to everything that we do and it’s often something that’s overlooked in our society, in our culture. We expect people just to be able to push through all of their different challenges and we need help.”

In addition to all the excellent dancing that evening, the Dancing With the Sioux Falls Stars event will also feature a social hour before the event, beginning at 6:00 PM. Included in the social hour will be chef-inspired hors d'oeuvres, a fun signature cocktail, delightful desserts, and a silent auction.

Then the teams get their dancing shoes on starting at 7:00, and the Mirrorball Champions are announced right after the Mission Moment just after 8:00 PM.

8 Celebrities You May to Run Into In South Dakota

You may not think of South Dakota as the crossroads of celebrity life. That's a good thing, we kind of like to live under the radar here on the upper plains.

But, living in South Dakota we are just a few degrees away from stardom. Not just because the author of the Little House on the Prairie books is from here. Or because every time Tom Brokaw shows up on TV, someone will say, "You know he's from Yankton."

We may not have as much of a chance at a celebrity sighting in South Dakota as we would in Minneapolis, but there are some famous personalities you may run into in the 605.

OK, so we're not Hollywood, but there are a number of famous people who were born in the Rushmore State. Here's a list of 10 famous people who were born in South Dakota!
