The kiddos of the Sioux Empire are about to lose one of their favorite spots for fun and imagination.

After 18 years of bringing joy, and maybe a few too many noisemaking toys into Sioux Empire households, Kidtopia announced on social media that it will soon be closing its doors for good.

The long-time local favorite toy store, currently located in Dawley Farm Village, is holding a massive Going Out of Business sale. According to Dakota News Now, nearly everything in the store is marked down 50%, with some items slashed as much as 75%. (Well, almost everything, sorry, Jellycat fans, those plushies are staying full price.

And when they say everything must go, they really mean it. Store fixtures, shelves, décor, and even that giant playhouse with the slide inside the store are for sale. If you ever wanted to turn your living room into a mini Kidtopia store, this is your moment.

Interestingly, new shipments are still arriving; apparently, some deliveries couldn’t be canceled after the closing announcement. So, for now, fresh toys will keep popping up for a short time.

Just a quick heads-up for shoppers...

All purchases are final, so make sure little Timmy really wants that LEGO Set before heading to the register.

Kidtopia first opened in 2007 at The Bridges shopping complex on 57th and Western, before relocating to Dawley Farm in 2014. The store hasn’t announced an exact closing date yet, but in the meantime, it’s open 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Noon to 6:00 PM on Sundays, perfect for snagging some early stocking stuffers and making a few holiday toy runs before the Christmas shopping season shifts into high gear.
