Is It Illegal To Garden Naked In Minnesota Cities?

Let's say you don't mind Minnesota's hot summer sun and giant mosquitos is it even legal to garden in the buff in Minnesota towns?

World Naked Gardening Day is coming up on the first Saturday of May as it does every year.

Let's say you wanted to celebrate May 6th in one of Minnesota's towns or cities by stripping down and firing up the hedge trimmer, would you get arrested?

The answer seems to be...only if someone turns you in.

It's illegal to expose oneself in Minnesota and can result in serious consequences including jail time.

According to Findlaw.com Minnesota law prohibits the following behaviors as indecent exposure:

• Willfully and lewdly (indecently or offensively) exposing one’s body or private parts.
• Getting another to expose his or her private parts.
• Engaging in any other lewd or lascivious (sexual) behavior or public indecency.

So if you are thinking of gardening in the nude in a Minnesota town you'll want to make sure and have a high privacy fence.

And FYI...this would be a bad time to re-pot your cactuses.
