Join The Magic Of Christmas At The Castle This December
Dakota News Now is reporting that Sanford Children’s Hospital will bring the spirit of the season to life on December 2 with its annual Christmas at the Castle celebration. Now in its tenth year, the event has become a cherished tradition for families, staff, and most importantly, the children spending the holiday in the hospital.

Physical Therapist Dan Steventon from Sanford Health said the meaning behind the evening goes far beyond lights and festivities. “It’s a good community event,” he said. “We get to go outside of the castle and light the tree, but then also we get to be there on the lawn and look in at the kids looking out the windows. As usual, we’re there for them, and it’s one example where we get to say, ‘Hey, we remember you’re in here… no one is exempt from hope.’”
For many families, Christmas is a season of joy, warmth, and togetherness—something that can feel out of reach for children who must spend the holiday in a hospital room. Events like this remind them that the community shares that joy with them.

Open to the public, the celebration begins at 6 p.m. and includes tree lighting, free hot cocoa, holiday treats, and visits from princesses and superheroes. Attendees can also donate gifts from the Sanford Children's Wish List, which can be dropped off in the hospital lobby—spreading hope and holiday magic where it’s needed most.
