Brookings Summer Arts Festival Ignites Creative Spirit
You just can't talk about the Brookings Summer Arts Festival without mentioning that it has become a summer tradition for this area. And when you talk about art, this is an all-encompassing arts and community event.
That means paintings, sculptures, antiques, music, jewelry and leather making, fiber arts, food (lots of food), and much, much more!
The Brookings Summer Arts Festival is coming up this Saturday, July 13 from 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday, July 14, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Pioneer Park just off of 6th Street in Brookings.
Over 175 artists from across the country will be making the trek to Brookings for this year's event representing 15 different art disciplines.
And if food is one of your reasons for taking the short trip to Brookings for this fantastic event, you won't be disappointed. You will find over 36 gourmet and ethnic food booths to satisfy your every craving. Don't pass up the opportunity to grab a famous fresh-squeezed lemonade either.
In the entertainment department, there really is something for the whole family from talented musicians from all genres, to performances from Prairie Repertory Theatre, to the Kids Activity Center.
Admission to the festival is free and there are handicap, public, and some localized pay-to-park areas, as well as shuttle bus rides available for $2.00. The festival is rain or shine and they ask that you leave your pets at home.
This really is one not to miss summer festival for art, music, and food lovers in the tri-state area!
