Sioux Falls Hy-Vee Stores Launch Budget-friendly Thanksgiving Meals For Families
The gloves are off and the gravy boats are loaded. I see that Hy-Vee has officially stepped into the Thanksgiving meal deal ring. The Midwest grocery store chain is now squaring off with Aldi and Walmart to see who can dish out the biggest savings this holiday season.
If you’ve been keeping score, Aldi and Walmart rolled out their own bargain Thanksgiving feasts earlier this month. Now, Hy-Vee is entering the competition, and it’s bringing the bird.
According to Dakota News Now, Hy-Vee is offering a full Thanksgiving spread that feeds up to six people for just $30. That includes all the usual suspects: turkey, trimmings, and even dessert. Because what’s Thanksgiving without a pie-induced nap, right?

And for those of us keeping gluten off our plates, Hy-Vee’s got a gluten-free version of the meal that feeds six for $50.
Not to be outdone, Aldi and Walmart are serving up their own family feasts that feed up to ten people for about $40. Meanwhile, Hy-Vee is sweetening the pot, or maybe the roasting pan, with a “buy a ham, get a turkey free” deal running all November long.
One thing’s clear: there’s a cornucopia of competition this year.
With so many families tightening their belts, financially, you'll need to loosen that belt up after dinner; these wallet-friendly feasts couldn’t come at a better time.
As you've more than likely heard, SNAP benefits come to an end on November 1, due to the federal government shutdown. That news is putting extra strain on households nationwide, so every bit of savings counts.
Hy-Vee Executive Vice President Anna Stoermer summed it up perfectly when she told Dakota News Now:
“These deals provide budget-friendly options for families while many are struggling in the current economy. At Hy-Vee, we want to help customers save time and money, and these meal options will do just that while allowing customers to spend more time with friends and family.”
In other words, these meal deals allow you to spend less time in the kitchen and more time arguing about important things like football and politics.

Just a couple of quick reminders...
The Sioux Falls Hy-Vee stores will be closed to shoppers on Thanksgiving Day so employees can enjoy the holiday themselves. But if you pre-order your meal deal, you can still pick it up between 8 and 11 AM that morning.
The Hy-Vee Thanksgiving Meal Deal runs November 3–26, so sharpen up your carving knives and dig out your stretchy pants, because the holiday season is coming up fast!
