How New Traffic Lights Will Change Sioux Falls Commute
One of the troubled corners in Sioux Falls is about to get a little bit better. One of the trickier intersections in Southeast Sioux Falls is about to get a new makeover, a new look and a new stoplight.
If you travel 57th Street to work and school in the morning ,you'll see the new lights being installed at 57th and Greystone. Those who travel to and from using the heavily traveled corridor know that this corner has been a tricky one.
About 5 years ago, the Greystone Heights Apartments went in near 57th and Sycamore. It's a huge complex that has brought loads of new tenants. The apartment building was one thing, but then came First State Bank Southwest. While I was doing a remote at the bank a few years ago, Bank Manager Jordan Huisken mentioned that a Kwick Star was going to be moving in. A quiet little corner in Sioux Falls along the Minnehaha and Lincoln County Line had slowly grown into a busy corner.
About a week ago, I noticed city workers installing the new light. They started with the lights turned down, then turned up with the lights covered. Wednesday morning, on the way to work, I noticed the lights flashing. They're getting ready to turn them on for good.

After the turn on, those who pull out of SilverStar Car Wash won't have to 'patch out' after a quick wash. Those who fill up after a quick fill at Kwik Trip-Kwik Star won't have to sneak out the back way to cut across to Sycamore on Mission, and those wanting to get in and out of First State Bank Southwest will be able to ease out after their banking. Oh, and I didn't even mention a new coffee shop, Ziggi's. It' will be easier to get out without spilling your morning coffee.

Sioux Falls continues to grow and spread. I'd love to hear about any upgrades that have been made in your neighborhood or upgrades that haven't been started yet.
