One of the many hard-working employees at Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Café Alex has been with the local eatery for six years. He gets to work by riding his bike over four miles each way. Recently, Alex's bike broke down and he was working his way to get a new bike. This isn't the first time Alex has been without a bike. But he's never complained or asked for help.  So the staff at Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Café wanted to come together to give Alex a special gift...a brand bike.

When our kitchen managers’ heard that Alex was again, without a bike, they decided they wanted to help. They approached some of our front of house staff, and they all readily agreed: they wanted to help Alex too. In the span of a week, our employees were not only able to raise enough money to cover the purchase of a new bike (even better, an electric bike!), but were also able to raise more to put towards a savings account for Alex. If something does happen with his bike again, he does have a little nest egg built up!

Check out this sweet video from Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Café. Alex was speechless!

Staff at Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Café even helped Alex start his own bank account in case he needed to repair his bike in the future.

There are so many great people in the Sioux Empire! Way to go Josiah’s Coffeehouse & Café!

Here's a look at Sioux Falls, then-and-now. See if you can recognize some of these old buildings, businesses, and city streets.
