South Dakota Pizza Spot Shocks Town & Closes Earlier Than Planned

A small South Dakota town heard some shocking news about a beloved pizza joint that will be closing its doors before the start of summer.

Pizza Ranch throughout the Sioux Empire is a great place to enjoy a meal with family. One South Dakota Pizza Ranch announced they will be closing at the end of May. But the last day came sooner than expected.

In a previous story from March, Pizza Ranch in Canton made the surprising closure announcement on its Facebook page (which has now been deleted) that it will be closing its doors on May 31st. However, due to the ongoing struggle to make money over the last few years and the amount of current staff working, owners decided to close the Canton Pizza Ranch earlier than expected.

Pizza Ranch currently has 72 locations in Iowa, 44 eateries in Minnesota, and 20 in the state of South Dakota. Now that the Canton Pizza Ranch location is officially closed, there will be one less spot in town to grab a slice. This closure will affect numerous operations for Canton Pizza Ranch fans.

It's never easy to see a local business struggle and make difficult decisions. However, it is nice to see the employees of the Pizza Ranch in Canton had enough time to find new employment opportunities throughout the Sioux Empire. Employees who worked at the Canton Pizza Ranch did find new employment opportunities before they closed the eatery.

Hopefully, a new business will fill the space of the former Pizza Ranch space in Canton.
