FYI Sioux Falls Parents! Sioux Empire Fair Enforces Curfew Hours

The 86th Annual Sioux Empire Fair is happening now in Sioux Falls at the WH Lyon Fairgrounds. It's a week dedicated to great grandstand entertainment, fun carnival rides, greasy, however delicious fair food, and creating lasting South Dakota fair memories with the family.

Bringing families together at the Sioux Empire Fair was a significant reason why fair officials decided to implement curfew hours for any fair attendee under 17 years old.

Back in the summer of 2021, officials with the Sioux Empire Fair first enforced new curfew hours for anyone under the age of 17. Since then, Sioux Empire Fair staff have continued this trend "in order to maintain safety of everyone at the Sioux Empire Fair."

In a Facebook post from the Sioux Empire Fair, there was a friendly reminder about this policy for all Sioux Empire parents and guardians.

Some people may think curfews at Sioux Empire Fair are silly. However, this policy keeps the Sioux Empire Fair a "family-friendly event." They aren't saying anyone who's 17 can't stay for the fun at night. Teenagers under 17 just need a parent or guardian with them!

The Sioux Empire Fair is continuing a 9pm curfew for anyone 17 and under not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Anyone 17 and under must be accompnaied at all times after 9pm while on the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds.
