Crime never takes a break in South Dakota, and now, officials are actively looking to detain a wanted fugitive on the run in the state.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office is alerting the public of a fugitive named Chad Alan Pearman. He's 41-years-old and was last seen around the Rapid City area.

Officials with the Pennington County Sheriff's Office featured Chad Alan Pearman on the department's Facebook page as part of a weekly post known as "Friday's Fugitive."

A Felony Bench Warrant was issued for Chad Alan Pearman charging him with Possession of a Controlled Drug, and Violation of No Contact Order. Pearman also has two misdemeanor warrants for Obstructing Officer, Jailer, Firefighter, Simple Assault Domestic, and False Imprisonment. Pearman is a Native American male born in 1983; he would be 41 years old at the time of this publishing. Approximately 5’10” tall, 142 pounds, black hair with brown eyes.

Thankfully, there is no immediate danger to the public. However, the goal is to find Chad Alan Pearman and take him off the South Dakota streets.

The Pennington County Sheriff's Office is encouraging anyone with information on Chad Alan Pearman's whereabouts to call 605-394-6117. Concerned citizens can also reach the Rapid City Police Department at 605-394-4131 if anyone has information.

It's never a bad idea to be safe and vigilant when you're out and about in South Dakota. It almost seems a little silly at times. But on the other hand, you never know what could happen in this crazy world or who you'll encounter.
