Strange Yellow Light Zigzags Through Chicago Night Sky

Have you ever been up late at night and spotted something in the sky that looks unusual? That happened recently to a man in the Chicago, Illinois area as he spotted a yellow light that zigged and zagged across the skyline of the Windy City.

I came across this brand new report on the National UFO Reporting Center site that was shared from Chicago. According to the details provided, this close encounter of the Chicago kind happened around 1:06am during the early morning hours of July 3, 2025. The guy said that he was working on a computer late at night and decided to take a break and looked up into the night sky and was startled by what he saw:

"a few seconds after I was looking outside, the light appeared. It's oddity made me curious...the light seems to move from east to west very quickly before moving "up and to the right"...like it drew a very clear—albeit very short—"Z" in the sky"

He added there was a haze around the object and that it seemed to leave a light trail.

When I see stories like this, I weigh heavily the background of the person who shared the report. In this case, the guy is very familiar with the many aircraft that fly in and out of O'Hare. He's seen plenty of drones and other conventional aircraft to understand when he's seeing something unconventional.
