Brace Yourself, Missouri, for a Big Daddy Windstorm and Blizzard
One way or another, weather for the next couple of days in Missouri will be exciting. You should just go ahead now and brace yourself for at least a big daddy windstorm and there are already blizzard warnings for part of the state. Yes, I said blizzard warnings.
This is not speculation, but weather things we know will happen in and around Missouri beginning Tuesday afternoon and carrying over into Wednesday morning. Here's an alert shared by the National Weather Service in St. Louis today. This is in regards to storms.
The severe weather carries over into Wednesday when the wind will really whip across the state.
But, wait, there's more...
The National Weather Service in Missouri has issued a blizzard warning for the second half of this storm beginning at 9pm Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday. Note that there's not much accumulation expected, but high winds and snow will make travel Tuesday night in northwestern Missouri perilous.
Keep in mind this is just dealing with the weather factors we know. There is the possibility that severe thunderstorms could see explosive development over parts of Missouri and Illinois Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. That will depend on many variables that we don't know yet. Right now, the NWS doesn't seem confident that will happen, but it remains a possibility.
Plan on strong winds Tuesday and Wednesday in Missouri and you will not be disappointed. Oh, and for the extreme northwestern part of Missouri, enjoy your blizzard in March.
