Nothing beats an authentic Italian meal. I grew up with as authentic Italian food as you can get. My Grandpa Pete's parents were from Italy and brought their recipes home and they've been passed down for generations. Italians take pride in their family recipes and signature dishes. That's the same story for this Italian Restaurant named best in Minnesota.

This restaurant is so authentic that it looks like a scene from The Godfather. The good news is the only killer here is the recipe for spaghetti and meatballs.

Yarusso Bros St. Paul Named Best In Minnesota

They picked Yarusso Bros Italian Restaurant in St. Paul as the best in Minnesota. They describe it as an old school Italian through and through. The founder of the restaurant, Francesco Yaruosso was an Italian Immigrant who opened up a tavern in 1932. He expanded the restaurant to become the 'Square Deal Cafe" in 1933 and served authentic Italian food. Every member of the Yarusso family worked the cafe at one point.

In 1947, Francesco retired and his sons took over the cafe, turning it into Yarusso Bros. The cafe remains very much as it originally was in the 1930s, and they still use the same sauce recipe created by Francesco Yarusso.

Here's what LoveFood highlighted at Yarusso Bros.

It's a mom-and-pop joint serving pure comfort food, with the likes of pasta, garlic cheese toast, and pizza options all on the menu. But customers are really there for the huge meatballs and red sauce with spaghetti.
