Minnesota Animals That Are Great Swimmers

Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes, and it's not a surprise that many of our wild animals can swim. But, there are some that are actually really good swimmers who can go very long distances.

I remember camping on an island at Voyageurs National Park, and thinking it would add a level of protection against bears and wolves. It turns out those guys can swim, too!

For the sake of brevity, I didn't add obvious swimmers like fish, loons, and ducks. Instead, here are some surprises, especially when it comes to how far these animals can swim.
