Pizza in the morning for breakfast, and I'm not talking the actual breakfast pizza with eggs and so on. I'm referring to left over slice of pepperoni pizza from the night before. It tastes good, especially cold. But can it be good for you? The experts say yes.

As Newsweek reports, registered dietitian Chelsey Amer says that a slice of the traditional late night snack can actually be a smarter meal than your typical bowl of cereal.

“You may be surprised to find out that an average slice of pizza and a bowl of cereal with whole milk contain nearly the same amount of calories" she says, adding “However, pizza packs a much larger protein punch, which will keep you full  throughout the morning.”

We have a pizza night at our house every week. There's always a couple slices left over. So, from now on, I'll eat one with my morning coffee feeling good about myself.
