How Do You Take a Bathroom Break During Online Class

If you are taking an online class and you have to go to the bathroom. What do you do?

I would have just gone. I wouldn't have thought about it and just hoped I wasn't called on. But a guy in the middle of his online class couldn't wait and thought he should ask the professor for permission. So he types in the request.

The professor says "Of course you can go to the bathroom," with a laugh. The student obviously does it as a joke. But would you even bother to ask?

I have only taken one online class, but similarly, I've been on hundreds of conference calls. They are a giant time suck. So one of the things I often accomplish during a conference call is to take a poop. No one hears it. No one sees me. It's just a good way to multitask.
