A Gregory, South Dakota man has been indicted on charges in the death of a child in late February.

Attorney General Marty Jackley and Gregory County State's Attorney Amy Bartling say 20-year-old Adam Joel Bruns was indicted by a Gregory County Grand Jury in the death on February 25th of 3-month-old Levi Bruns.

Jackley and Bartling say the charges include alternate counts of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter, as well as two alternative counts of aggravated assault and felony child abuse.

Conviction on a second-degree murder charge carries a mandatory life prison sentence, while life in prison is the maximum sentence for a first-degree manslaughter conviction.
