Beresford Teen Competing For National Title. Hailey Sveeggen Will Represent South Dakota.

Competition begins for Beresford, S.D. teen participating in national scholarship program.

Hailey Sveeggen,of Beresford, S.D. will be competing in the 57th Distinguished Young Women National Finals.  Sveeggen, along with 49 other state representatives, has been in Mobile, Ala. for the past two weeks participating in community activities and preparing for the national scholarship competition.

For her talent presentation, Hailey will perform a contemporary dance to "Human." Sveeggen is a 2014 graduate of Beresford High and the daughter of Shellie and Michael Sveeggen.

On Saturday, June 28, ten finalists will be selected from the group of 50 young women and will compete for the opportunity to represent the program as the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2014 and for a share of more than $150,000 in cash scholarships.
