Okay, who remembers going to Stars and Steins just South of 41st and Minnesota to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show?  I think the building has since become a comic book and trading card store.

I remember the first time I walked into the joint a guy handed me an entire loaf of toasted bread.  "What's this for?", I asked.  He said, "You'll figure it out."

Gosh, that was fun - doing the 'Time Warp' and throwing toasted bread at the screen when Frank proposed a toast at dinner.

It took me about three times before I finally figured what all I needed to bring along:

  • Toasted bread
  • Rice
  • Newspapers
  • A water pistol
  • A flashlight
  • Rubber gloves
  • A noise maker
  • Confetti
  • Toilet paper
  • A party hat
  • A bell
  • Cards
  • Hot dogs and prunes

Fast forward to today - the latest craze around the country is something called 'Trapped in a Room With a Zombie.'

How it works is people are 'trapped' in a room alongside a blood thirsty zombie who is chained to a wall.  Every five minutes, a buzzer sounds, and the zombie is given another foot of chain, allowing the 'undead creature' to move even closer to its next meal - which would be YOU!

If participants don't solve a series of puzzles within the allotted 60 minutes, the zombie gets to eat everyone in the group.

Sounds like fun.

Maybe the station should look at hosting one of those here in Sioux Falls.  Given my age though, we'd have to start things a lot earlier than when we were younger and partying along with the Rocky Horror Picture Show - gotta be home in time for the 10 o'clock news and weather you know!
