If you tell your dog he's a good boy, you may be wasting your breath.

According to a new study, talk is cheap to dogs; they want action.

The study found that talking in a high-pitched voice to your dog really has no impact.

Researchers writing in the journal Behavioral Processes concluded that dogs prefer human touch to the human voice - they want to be petted.
