YANKTON, S.D. (AP) - An inmate who escaped from the Yankton County jail last fall has been apprehended in Sioux Falls.

Authorities tell the Daily Press & Dakotan newspaper (http://bit.ly/10v3WvN ) that Kai Hansen was arrested Monday afternoon in a motel. Police recovered a vehicle Hansen is believed to have stolen in Yankton County after his escape late last October.

Police say Hansen was jailed last fall for violating parole on a burglary conviction. He allegedly opened a garage door while he and another inmate were washing cars at the jail and fled on foot, later stealing the vehicle. He was not considered dangerous.
