XXL have just unveiled their Freshman Class of 2015, and we highly approve.

This year's group is a mix of artists you're already hearing in heavy radio rotation, and some others you'll be hearing lots more from in the coming year. Atlanta rapper OG Maco made waves in 2014 with his sparse, piano plink-driven "U Guessed It" and recently popped up on "Doctor Pepper" with Diplo, Riff Raff and K-pop crossover CL.

Fetty Wap's ubiquitous "Trap Queen" nabbed No. 2 on the Billboard 100, while Detroit rapper-singer Dej Loaf is joining the North American leg of Nick Minaj's Pinkprint Tour. After several acclaimed mixtapes, Chicago rapper-singer (and Timbaland protege) Tink is set for a full-length studio album, Think Tink, some time this year. New Orleans MC Kidd Kidd won the fan-voted tenth spot.

As XXL says in their announcement of the cover's release: "The process of selecting our Freshmen every year is an eight-month process, with thousands of hours dedicated to listening to new music, meeting and interviewing hundreds of potential Freshmen picking the brains of everyone and making and re-making (and re-making) the list over and over again to determine who we feel should represent this year’s Class." Do you agree with their picks? Let us know in the comments.

Check out the behind-the-scenes video below — and then head on over to XXL for more. If you need to see the new class in person, they'll all be performing at New York City's Best Buy Theater on Tuesday, June 30 and in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater on Monday, July 13.
