There are times in life when everything falls into place. When the starts align and worlds collide. Today, my friends, is one of those days.

I awoke this morning to a tweet from Lin Manuel Miranda, you know the Hamilton guy. I didn't get a tweet from him, I mean I saw a tweet from Lin. He was announcing the arrival of one of the greatest things in the history of things: Weird Al's "Hamilton Polka!"

To catch you up, if you don't know. Lin Manuel Miranda created and stared in he Broadway show Hamilton, about the life of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. It's a groundbreaking and amazing show. The cast recording is also a massive hit. The whole show has been a phenomena for several years. I was tipped of to Hamilton just before it exploded, and have had the cast recording on my playlist for a long time. My kids love it now too.

Weird Al is, of course, Weird Al. He's been at the top of my favorites list since my parents gave me my first Weird Al cassette when I was 10. One of the things he often does is create polka melodies of popular songs. Like this one from his 2014 album Mandatory Fun.

To add a little more background. Miranda has long said that he grew up a Weird Al fan. He talks about Al all the time. And Al himself was an early fan of Miranda's work, especially Hamilton. Just like me. The three of us have so much in common that we are basically best friends at this point.

Now these worlds have come together to create the exact piece of art that we all need at this moment in history.
