Work is beginning on a reconstruction project at the 10th and Sycamore intersection in eastern Sioux Falls.

The work is a joint project with the City of Sioux Falls and the State Department of Transportation.

Officials say to start with, various lanes will be closed between 9am and 4pm as the contractor puts up temporary signals, and that motorists can expect delays, equipment and construction workers in the intersection.

The DOT says the work is part of a $2.5 million intersection improvement project which is scheduled to be finished October 3.
