Women’s March Sioux Falls is Taking Place January 21
The Women's March on Washington is planned for January 21 in Washington DC. The day after inauguration rally started as a social media community in November of 2016 and has grown into a large mobilization of Americans across the country. Solidarity marches are planned in several cities, including Sioux Falls.
We are standing up in our Sioux Falls community as defenders of women and human rights. We are standing in solidarity with the Women's March on Washington, on January 21, 2017. We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country. -Women's March Sioux Fall on Facebook
The event in Sioux Falls will take place in conjunction with the Washington gathering. The Women's March Sioux Falls plans a peaceful march starting with a gathering at 9:00 AM, Saturday January 21, at Calvary Cathedral at 500 South Main in Sioux Falls (map).
The forecast says that Saturday will probably be chill with a chance of light rain, so organizers say to dress warm and maybe bring an umbrella.
The march itself will start at 10:00 AM following a path down Phillips Ave to City Hall at 224 West 9th Street (map). A post-march gathering is planned at Icon Lounge.
Guest speakers will also address women's issues as well as state and local issues during the march.
