The first weather storms of the 2016 Holiday Season are headed our way.  Here is the latest.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued WINTER STORM WATCH in effect from late Thursday Night through Friday evening.

Counties include:  LYON IA-MURRAY-NOBLES-PIPESTONE-ROCK-BEADLE-SANBORN-MINER-LAKE-MOODY-HANSON-MCCOOK-MINNEHAHA-TURNER-LINCOLN SD-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...ROCK RAPIDS...GEORGE...INWOOD...
LARCHWOOD...SLAYTON...FULDA...WORTHINGTON...PIPESTONE...LUVERNE...
HURON...WOONSOCKET...HOWARD...MADISON...ORLAND...FLANDREAU...
ALEXANDRIA...EMERY...SALEM...CANISTOTA...BRIDGEWATER...MONTROSE...
SIOUX FALLS...PARKER...CENTERVILLE...MARION...VIBORG...IRENE...
HURLEY...CHANCELLOR...CANTON...LENNOX...TEA...HARRISBURG

This weather event will likely start as rain then change into snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches possible and winds from 30 to 45mph.Snow, Sleet, and or Ice accumulations could cause travel difficulties.

A BLIZZARD WATCH is in effect from Late Thursday Night through Friday Evening for areas north of Sioux Falls including the cities of Brookings, De Smet, and Arlington in South Dakota. And Marshall, Lake Benton, & Tyler Minnesota.
