Snow in April is stupid. I know, it happens from time to time. But we just had one of the coldest winters I can remember in a long time. We didn't have a ton of snow but we got enough.

If the above photo was taken on Christmas Eve or the day before the opening of deer season I would be ecstatic. But it was taken just a few days ago. Today I was at the range with a class and it was miserable. The only bright side was the wind was blocked by the berm so we weren't getting wind chilled to death.

It occurred to me as I was writing this post what I was doing one year ago on this same weekend. I was in Forest Lake, Minnesota shooting a 3-gun match in temps in the 60's and 70's. It did rain late on the last day, but that rain didn't freeze or turn into snow. I was wearing short sleeves and not stocking hat. Today I wore a stocking hat, coat, snow boots, and gloves suitable for sitting in the cold for hours.

Next weekend looks like we could get another dose of this... GO HOME WINTER, YOU'RE DRUNK!
