Gia Allemand, former 'Bachelor' star and model, attempted suicide on Monday (Aug. 12) and was pronounced dead yesterday (Aug. 14).

Though it seemed like Allemand led a charmed life, there was clearly some darkness behind her bright smile. What caused her to try to take her own life?

Sources say Allemand was allegedly upset about her rocky relationship with New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson.

"Gia and Ryan were a happy couple. It’s unfair to categorize their relationship as rocky, but in the weeks leading up to her death they did have their first major fight,” an anonymous source told Radar Online.

The source continued, "Because their relationship was so solid for the most part, Gia had expressed her sadness that Ryan hadn't proposed to her yet, telling friends she was upset over it."

Despite the fight, none of Allemand's friends or family had any idea that the starlet was dealing with such severe issues. "There were literally no red flags that Gia would take her own life," the source said. "Even with how upset Gia was over the rift in her relationship with Ryan, friends just cannot believe she would commit suicide over it. The whole thing is just heartbreaking."

The source did note that though Allemand and Anderson had been fighting, none of their spats involved cheating allegations.

Our thoughts are with Allemand's loved ones during this difficult time.
