When you think of interesting places in South Dakota, you probably think Mount Rushmore and the Corn Palace. Our state has a lot more to offer than just those two tourist attractions. Have you ever been to the Pettigrew Home and Museum in downtown Sioux Falls?  Have you ever taken a tour of the Fort Randall Dam and Powerplant? South Dakota is home to many interesting places that play second fiddle to the best-known ones.

Thrillist put together at list of the Most Underrated Places in Every State. In South Dakota, that place is located in Vermillion, South Dakota. It's the National Music Museum.

The NMM's renowned collections, which include more than 15,000 American, European, and non-Western instruments from all cultures and historical periods, are the most inclusive anywhere. They include many of the earliest, best preserved, and historically most important instruments known to survive.

Even though it's no secret to anyone who lives in this area, the most underrated place in Iowa is Lake Okoboji. In Minnesota, Voyageurs National Park in International Falls made the list.
