What a great year I had in the garden.

This year I expected a so-so yield after the record tomato count last season.  Wrong!
After planting 10 tomato plants in May we ate the first ones on July 22nd.  They really started to ripen the first week in August.

With five different varieties we surpassed last year's numbers.  Yes, I kept a written log on just how much was coming out of the garden with each picking.  So here is the final tally:
-12 pickings of green beans
-37 zucchini
-174 cucumbers
-619 tomatoes

Most all the neighbors and coworkers also enjoyed the crop.  Our freezer is full and we continue to dehydrate the last of the tomatoes as they ripen in the garage.

Many people ask me what the secret is.  My own compost.

God bless our garden.
