I don't know what it is, but I cry during every romantic comedy movie. No matter how funny it is, I cry - and then I laugh because I'm crying. A successful romantic comedy will tug at your heartstrings and give you a chuckle.

Rolling Stone magazine recently polled their readers to come up with a list of the "Top 10 Best Romantic Comedies."  Here's their list:

  1. "When Harry Met Sally" - 1989
  2. "Annie Hall" - 1977
  3. "The Wedding Singer" - 1998
  4. "Love Acutally" - 2003
  5. "Say Anything" - 1989
  6. "50 First Dates" - 2004
  7. "You've Got Mail" - 1998
  8. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" - 2004
  9. "Notting Hill" - 1999
  10. "There's Something About Mary" - 1998

I would say that is a pretty decent list, but MY list is quite different. Here's my list of the "10 Best Romantic Comedies." You'll notice I have a thing for the underdog guy (and sometimes girl). What romantic comedy would you add to the list?

    Sixteen Candles

I swear, every time I watch this movie I cry, even though I've seen it more than 50 times. I wish there would've been a "Sixteen Candles" sequel and Jake and Samantha would've married and had kids. FYI - Michael Schoeffling, who played Jake Ryan, retired from acting in 1991 and does carpentry in Pennsylvania.

    Pretty Woman

The story of a rich businessman falling in love with a prostitute.  It happens every day, or not. The romantic ending is why this made my list. What girl wouldn't want her dream guy to pull up in a limo and sweep her off her feet.

    Dirty Dancing

Ahhh, forbidden love, it makes for a great movie. Baby and Johnny Castle's love story was enhanced by a great soundtrack and killer dance moves by the dreamy Patrick Swayze.

  • 7

    Bridesmaids

Not only was this one of the funniest movies I've ever seen (thank you Melissa McCarthy), it is also one of the most romantic. Chris O'Dowd's Irish accent is so sexy.

    Pretty in Pink

This is one of those movie where you don't know which guy to root for to get the girl. As much as I wanted Duckie to get his girl, he and Andie were better friends than lovers.  Blaine stood up to his arrogant friend and in the end won the heart of Andie. The soundtrack is one of my favorites of all time.

    Grease 2

I was 12 years old when this movie came out. I wanted to be just like Stephanie Zinone.  I even cut the sleeves off my grey sweatshirt - my mom was not happy about that. The only way Michael is going to get his girl is if he can learn how to ride a motorcycle and impress her. This is still one of my favorite romantic comedies to watch and I know every word to the soundtrack.  Go ahead, ask me to sing "Cool Rider" or "Reproduction."

    The Wedding Singer

Two Drew Barrymore movies made my list.  That girl can pick a romantic comedy! Julia is getting married to d-bag Glen. He is the biggest idiot!  You instantly start rooting for the wedding singer, Robbie, to sweep her off her feet. Yes, it's an awesome romantic comedy, but let's face it, the Billy Idol cameo on the plane was pretty awesome. It would be my dream to have a handsome man write a song just for me.

    Never Been Kissed

This movie was the first time I was introduced to Michael Vartan.  I wanted him to sweep Josie off her feet so bad.  But, then I got the creeps, because Josie was his "student."  He shouldn't be having dirty thoughts about a student.  But, then YOU know she's not a student, so it's o.k.  During the final scene of the movie, I was a mess, bawling like a little baby.

    Juno

You KNOW it's a great movie when even the trailer makes you cry. Paulie is the father of Juno's baby and is clearly in love with her, but Juno makes it very difficult for him to continue his feelings. I laughed and I cried the whole way through the movie. This movie made me a huge fan of both Ellen Page and Michael Cera.

    Some Kind of Wonderful

This is THE best love story. All my life, the guy I liked always liked the other girl.  Just once, I wanted that guy to realize I was the one, come running after ME and give me a kiss like Keith gives Watts. Best line of the movie - "You look good wearing my future."
