We’ve Only Just Begun! Major Street Reconstruction in Downtown Sioux Falls.
After just a day and a half, the difference is evident. Sioux Falls’ East 10th Street and South 2nd Avenue is in rebuilding mode.
The anticipated extra time needed to get through this expedition is 10-15 minutes especially during peak traffic times. Westbound traffic is reduced to one lane through the intersection of East Tenth Street during the project. Going east is a cakewalk in comparison.
Second Avenue is closed at South Third Avenue and obviously no right turn will be possible from East Tenth Street to northbound East River Road.
There is also no access from East River Road to East Tenth Street. Fawick Park is still open as is the adjacent bike path along the Big Sioux River underneath the westbound 10th Street bridge. Sioux Falls Public Works says the intersection will be much safer once completion day arrives in July.
