Welcome Home Soldiers
A Welcome Home Ceremony is going to be held at the T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre, South Dakota for soldiers of the 152nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, South Dakota Army National Guard. After completing a five-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the 68 soldiers will be returning home to South Dakota Tuesday, December 17, 2013.
Although the soldiers of the 152nd have been in the United States since December 10th, they have been at Fort Hood, Texas completing demobilization requirements.
The 152nd’s mission was to provide combat support and combat service support to forces throughout an assigned area of operation. Those areas include supply, transportation, maintenance and ordnance support.
A parade will start the welcome home celebration at 2:00pm beginning at the National Guard Armory and end with the Welcome Home Ceremony at T.F.Riggs High School at about 3:30pm. Click here for the streets in the parade route.
