A state prison inmate who walked away from a work assignment in Sioux Falls last year is back in custody.

South Dakota State Penitentiary officials say Inmate Wilson Two Lance Jr. was apprehended in Mobridge on October 18.

He was to be returned to the Jameson Annex of the Penitentiary in Sioux Falls later on Wednesday.

Corrections officials say Two Lance left his community service job in Sioux Falls without authorization last December 29.

At the time he walked away, he was serving a 10-year sentence with 6 years suspended out of Edmunds County for fifth-offense DWI.
