The year was 2006, the number one movie of the year was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's ChestPittsburgh Steelers won the super bowl and a young 22-year old singer from Santa Barbara, California, was trying to make it into he music business and to have her voice heard. So with alittle help from the band P.O.D., Katy Perry got her shot.

She sang background vocals on their hit song, "Goodbye For Now" from the group's 2006 album, TestifyYou can view the official video for "Goodbye For Now" below. Perry comes in at about the 3:10 mark if you want to skip ahead. She can even be spotted in the background of P.O.D.'s performance on the Tonight show.
