Volunteers of America has been helping the most vulnerable members of our society since the 1920's and their mission and goal remains the same: to uplift and empower children, youth and families.

The programs they offer are many and varied but the goal for the people in them is the same, for them to become healthy and self-sufficient no matter what challenges they are dealing with. And the challenges range from homelessness to addiction issues, intellectual and developmental disabilities to behavioral health problems.

Many of the individuals they serve struggle with basic needs. Things that we take for granted in our everyday lives, like hygiene products, are luxuries that many of them simply cannot afford. Through Friday, July 31, 2015 you can help the VOA with their Fresh Start Drive, by donating new hygiene items, including:

  • shampoo & conditioner
  • laundry detergent
  • toothbrushes, toothpaste, & floss
  • deodorant
  • bathroom tissue
  • facial tissue
  • feminine hygiene products
  • body wash
  • lotion
  • diapers
  • disposable razors

If you can help with any of these items, please drop off your donations at the Washington Pavilion, at all 6 Lewis Drug locations and at the Volunteers of America building at 1309 W. 51st Street through Friday, July 31, 2015
