Vikings Crack Top 10 in USA Today Coaches’ poll
LILBURN, GA — The Augustana women’s basketball team climbed two more spots to break into the top 10 of the latest USA Today Sports Coaches’ poll released Tuesday afternoon. The Vikings check in at No. 10 in the third edition of the rankings receiving 447 points
The Vikings opened the season at No. 18 and jumped to No. 12 in last week’s poll before cracking the top 10 this week.
Ashland (Ohio) stayed in the top spot for the third consecutive week after garnering 30 first place votes. Bentley (Mass.) and Pittsburgh State (Kan.) remain at second and third, respectively. South Carolina – Aiken jumped one spot to fourth and Clayton State (Ga.) rounds out the top five.
The Vikings are 4-0 this season and open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Saturday against No. 9 Wayne State at 4 p.m. at the Elmen Center.
