Throughout the day in Sioux Falls, many events are scheduled to honor vets and remember the sacrifice.

  • Free Breakfast for all Veterans at all 240 Hy-Vee locations.
  • 10:30 AM Veterans program at Lincoln High School with. Mark Johnston, with U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds' office, is chairing the event, which is free and open to the public. Sponsored by The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Military and Veterans Affairs Committee and local veteran’s organizations.
  • 8:00 AM, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #628 (3601 S. Minnesota Ave.) annual breakfast for past and present commanders of Minnehaha County.
  • Noon, Disabled American Veterans (1519 W. 51st St.) volunteer awards luncheon.
  • Noon, American Legion (1701 W. Legion Dr.) Open House featuring Veterans Day Stew and Cake; free will donation accepted.
  • 1:30 PM, Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (2501 W. 22nd St.) Veterans Day Remembrance Service at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System Front Lobby.
  • 5:00 PM Social, 6:00 PM Dinner, Veterans of Foreign Wars Banquet (3601 S. Minnesota Ave.), Entertainment.
  • The Falls will be lit green to show support of veterans as part of the "Greenlight A Vet" campaign. The lights will go on at sunset and stay on until 10:45 PM.
