USD, UC Davis Agree To Meet On The Gridiron

VERMILLION, SD — The University of South Dakota and University of California-Davis have reached an agreement to play each other during the 2013 and 2015 football seasons. South Dakota will host the Aggies Aug. 31, 2013. UC Davis will host the Coyotes Sept. 12, 2015.
âWe are excited to open the 2013 season at home against UC Davis,â said South Dakota head football coach Joe Glenn. âEach game in this series has been a good one and we expect this contest to be no different.â
The Coyotes and Aggies met each season from 2009-11 as members of the Great West Conference. All three games were decided by four points or less. UC Davis won the first two matchups 24-23 in overtime (Vermillion, 2009) and 17-13 (Davis, Calif., 2010). South Dakota won the last meeting, 27-24, Oct. 22, 2011.
South Dakota and UC Davis first met in the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II playoffs in 1986, a game the Coyotes won 26-23. The overall series is tied 2-2.
