VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - The University of South Dakota mock trial team has come up with a statuesque way to raise money for a scholarship fund.

The team is selling a 2013 calendar with each month portraying the William O. "Doc" Farber statue in various outfits, including Valentine's Day flair and clothing highlighting USD's rivalry with South Dakota State University.

Farber served as chairman of the USD Department of Political Science for 38 years. The life-sized statue on Dakota Hall terracewas dedicated in 2002.

The team provides students the opportunity to learn basic trial advocacy skills and compete against teams in the region and from around the nation.

The $15 calendar was created by USD Creative Services and team members, who spent time last fall preparing props and taking photos of the campus landmark.
