High schoolers from all over the country are competing for $50,000 thanks to Vans Custom Culture Contest. Two of the high schools in the running are from right here in South Dakota.

Lennox High School and Parker High School made the cut to be part of Vans Custom Culture Contest.

Students were given blank Vans shoes to decorate however they so please and then the shoes would be put up to a vote on Vans website.

Vans started the Custom Culture Contest to bring attention to public school art departments and to empower students to use their creativity.

The winning high school art department will win $50,000 and the winning high school will win $5,000.

Voting started April 26 and will run through May 10. Winners will be notified May 11. The designs will be available to the public after the winners are notified.
