Two 15-year-old boys could be returned to their hometown of Fargo, North Dakota after they were arrested Monday in Sioux Falls.

Police say a 12-year-old girl told officers two black males had come to her door in an East 18th Street apartment building between 4:30 and 5pm.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says one of them pointed a gun at her and demanded her cell phone, and when one grabbed her phone, they ran.

Clemens says police were called around 6:30pm that two people matching the suspect descriptions had been spotted in the 3300 block of East 28th Street.

He says police converged on the area, and an officer saw the suspects at 26th & Bahnson. During the foot pursuit that followed, one of the suspects began to raise a handgun toward the officer but then lowered his hand.

Both suspects were caught, and Clemens says the gun turned out to be a realistic-looking BB-gun.

Clemens says police learned the two, both 15-year-old runaways from Fargo, had possibly been living in a stolen car for several days on South Majestic View Place.

He says they may also have been responsible for other crimes, including an attempted carjacking at an apartment building in the 1300 block of South Cleveland Avenue.

Both boys were charged with first-degree robbery and fleeing police, and one was charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement.
