The death of Michael Brown is months in the rear-view mirror, however the grand jury decision to not indict Officer Darren Wilson still resonates.

On Monday’s edition of Viewpoint University, a caller named Jim states his frustration regarding the treatment of blacks in America.  The previous caller had made the correlation of how the black community rallies around Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin, but when someone from the Black community is released from prison after being wrongly accused very little is said.

“(It disturbs me about) the number of people who have said that they have a constant fear of the police because of the color of their skin,” Jim continued. “I never realized how hard it was to be black, but I hear black people talk about being afraid of their children being murdered in the streets by white policemen. I don’t give a rat’s rear end about what anybody does when they get out of prison. I just think we’ve got a huge problem that we’re not dealing with. If we don’t deal with it, there will be some kind of repercussions from the black community.”

Soon after a different fellow named Jim responded with his thoughts. The dispute of the facts were not exact, but interesting nonetheless as the first round talked specifically about policemen and black youth and the answer veered toward a more general path.

“His statement that white men are killing innocent black youth is not happening. Before Rudy Guliani became Mayor of New York the number one cause of death in New York  City for black males under 25 were themselves. Black-on-black violence and black on white violence far surpasses white on black violence.”

Jim the second also referenced the Knockout game.

“That’s the physical attack of white people by blacks with one punch.”  Basically the perpetrator would sneak up behind people and punch an unsuspecting victim.  “(Nonetheless, if you asked me about) racial problems in this country, (I would say) absolutely.”

Unfortunately, it’s going to take a long time if ever before the wounds are healed.
