Two Colorado residents are in the Minnehaha County Jail and facing a series of charges.

Sioux Falls police say the two were arrested after officers allegedly found narcotics and stolen property in their hotel room and the stolen car they were driving.

Officer Sam Clemens says burglars kicked in the door of a residence on North Dominic Avenue Monday night and stole two shotguns, laptops and prescription pills. While police were investigating, narcotics officers working a separate case stopped a stolen 2014 Mini Cooper with two people in it:

Clemens says 25-year-old Dylan Morgan Huston and 21-year-old Mercedes Lynn Ross, both from Cedar Edge, Colorado, were arrested for offenses that included burglary, felony marijuana possession, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property. He says various items, including other items stolen from the house on North Dominic, were recovered in a hotel room and the vehicle, which had been stolen in Colorado.
