Tuesday Night’s Humboldt Tornado Rated EF-2 – Get More Stats and Info Here

This crazy week of severe weather continues across the Great Plains. Tuesday night saw a tornado touch down west of Sioux Falls near Humboldt, SD. The National Weather Service Office in Sioux Falls reports that the twister's preliminary rating is EF-2 with peak wind speeds about 125 mph. It touched down 3.5 miles south-southeast of Humboldt and traveled northwest for for about 18 minutes. It's maximum width is estimated to have been 400 yards. There were two residences affected by the tornado with one of the families at home during the storm.

 THE FAMILY WAS IN BED AS THE STORM APPROACHED AND RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEIR DAUGHTER INFORMING THEM OF THE TORNADO AND THE WARNING THAT WAS ISSUED FOR THEIR LOCATION.  THEY IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE BASEMENT FOR SHELTER AND A FEW MINUTES LATER THE TORNADO STRUCK THEIR HOME. THEY RECEIVED NO INJURIES AND TODAY CREDIT THEIR DAUGHTER AND THE WARNING FOR THE SAFETY.
