I think if I were a kid on summer vacation, I would not be happy, and I'd probably ask for my money back on spring.

Okay, I know I can't do that, and neither can anyone else, but Thursday turned out to be another day that was too cold for the swimming pools in Sioux Falls to open.

In fact, "too cold" might be an understatement. The noon temperature was 58 degrees.

That's right, 58 degrees!

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation operates six pools in the summer, two of them high-test enough to be called "aquatic centers," along with the McKennan Park Wading Pool and the Pioneer Spray Park.

But if the temperature is 58 degrees or something similar, no kid--or adult, for that matter--is going to want to jump into a swimming pool.

It's not like you're going to work up a sweat.

So all of us--swimmers and non-swimmers alike-- will just wait for warmer weather.

It has to happen, right?
