I always admired the strength of my father. Especially when we were misbehaving and got the death grip on the arm that would make Darth Vader jealous.

News flash: today’s men are not nearly as strong as their dads were.

Researchers measured the grip strength and pinch strength of young men and compared the results to the strength of young men 30 years ago.

The results were … sad.

The average 20- to 34-year-old today is able to apply 98 pounds of force when gripping something with his right hand. In 1985, the average man could squeeze with 117 pounds of force.

We’re getting soft, fellas. Let’s turn this around before it gets worse.
