Ten years ago I was living in Denver and was not here for what friends of mine called "The Night of the Tornado." Small storms that popped up all over eastern South Dakota gave birth to dozens of tornadoes. Twenty alone touched down between Lennox and Wakonda. Most of those were just north and east of Centerville. (The photo above is a tornado near Centerville taken on June 24, 2003.)

This was also the night that a tornado rated at F4 hit Manchester.
